Dressage Facility and Horse Boarding StablesOur horse farm and managed stables are now open to boarding horses. We are a full service equestrian facility located between Calera and Montevallo in Chilton County, near Shelby County in central Alabama, just 5 minutes from the University of Montevallo and less than one hour drive each from Birmingham, Montgomery, and Tuscaloosa. This ranch is designed for the joy of daily horseback riding and for the avid rider who wants to train in a specialized dressage facility. Amenities here include a 20x40 meter indoor arena, a large lighted outdoor arena, a round pen, over 15 acres of fertilized and planted pastures, fenced paddocks with outdoor sheds, 12' x 12' matted stalls, indoor and outdoor wash areas, ample parking for trailers, and several miles of managed horse trails. Boarders who desire fresh hay, clean-changed water, turn-out, cleaned stalls, and daily feedings can relax knowing that the care is provided, whether you're here or not. Let us know your instructions, and we'll try to accommodate your requests. The owners have spent 15 years nurturing the land toward boarding and dressage. find a managed stable for your horse.Horse Rehabilitation by an Equine TherapistWe provide equine rehab focusing on injury rehabilitation and post-surgical care, complete with therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation, cold/heat therapy and exercise therapy. With a background in veterinary medicine (DVM from Texas A&M University) and having completed certification as an Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner from the Univ. of Tennessee, Beth is now offering these specialized services. Our goal is to provide individualized care to help you bring your equine athlete back to full potential. With your insight and direction we can partner with your equine veterinarian, farrier, and trainer to provide a therapeutic plan for optimal recovery. Horse Riding Trails, Clinics and EventsWhether you want to relax on a trail ride or encounter extreme endurance exercise, Double T Farm offers miles of horseback riding trails crossing a rolling terrain of Alabama hardwoods and pines. The varied trails are specially designed to assist your horse training and performance. Strength training and endurance building are critical for every athlete. The farm has begun to host various riding clinics. We are currently bringing in qualified dressage trainers and coordinating activities such as video clinics, hunter pace, and group trail rides. Boarders are welcome to invite their own trainers to Double T Farm for their lessons. Our site is still under construction, and we are firming up plans as we move forward. Central Alabama is beginning to step up in the world of dressage, and we're looking for others who want to come along! Our first annual HUNTER PACE to benefit Special Equestrians, Inc. on December 1, 2007 was a huge success. Standby for an Event recap. Dressage PartnersHanovarians continue to prove themselves as quality dressage competitors. We have three quality performance prospect mares in our stables. Beth finds that dressage benefits her American Quarter Horse and Draft Crosses as well. All breeds are welcome here for boarding, training, and horseback riding. |
